The staff at Island Lake were phenomenal, very caring and compassionate. The dental surgery went really well, they finished in the time they advised, my dog did very well with it, and the price was great. Thanks so much for all you do!

I appreciate the patience and care the staff gave for both Nellie and Bear. Dr. Maks identified an ear infection for Nellie, he mentioned the ear cleaning which was demanded by him and I was charged for a mandatory cleaning. I appreciate the remaining staff understanding that my dog has had an ongoing reaction to food but Dr. Maks was not very kind about it all. Overall besides the $24 charge for an unneccessary demo my dogs were cared for by the remaining staff with kindness and patience.

Visited the first time with my pup Maxx who had a serious ear infection. During my interaction with the staff, they were so accommodating and pleasant/calm so I felt more comfortable. The Doctor was quick and efficient. For my follow up visit, again, the staff was friendly and accommodating with my crazy morning schedule.

Dr Max and his incredible staff went above and beyond for the recent surgery my Great Dane underwent. Dr Max engaged in an in-depth discussion concerning this procedure. He answered all of our concerns. It also became apparent Dr Max first and foremost was what was best for our dog. The hospital is clean, staff is friendly and very accommodating to our dog's needs. There is never a long wait and Dr. Max takes time to listen. Have been to other vet hospitals in the past, but this one stands out with their help and concern.

Dr and his staff are absolutely wonderful. They are understanding with my male Pit Bull, who has issues being around other animals. They do not criticize or discriminate, and they go above and beyond to make sure we are accommodated. My dog actually has an enjoyable time, every time he comes to vet. He can't wait to bust through the lobby door, and see them!

The staff at the Clinic is always genuinely concerned about the animals. The Veterinarians are very caring & informative. Dr Maks saved one of our Border Collies life a few years ago, by performing Emergency Surgery. Been taking all 5 of our rescue dogs to Dr Maks for at least 15 yrs, won't go anywhere else. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ????

Dr. Max and his team were able to get us in last minute on a Saturday. They were able to diagnose what was wrong with our sweet pup Bailey and got her on an antibiotic right away. If we had to wait until the following week it would have been much worse. Dr. Max understands the importance of getting treatment right away. He saved US money and Bailey was feeling better right away. We have been going Island Lake Vet for over 10 yrs. The best!

Your staff was very caring and compassionate . They were very responsive to questions and even brought the Dr out to answer my questions when picking Ginger up after her surgery . They let me know how to care for her stitches and told me if I had any concerns about her stitches I could email a pic and they would let me know if I needed to bring her in . That was awesome and something I would not have thought to do . I made me feel better about caring for my Ginger.

Friendly and patient staff! Always know who I am when I call and know my dogs. I always am able to get in to be seen in a timely manner and always feel like my dogs are in great hands. Dr. Max is a very talented surgeon and sometimes I know he wants to roll his eyes at me but he doesn’t! He just laughs that I over react over the show dogs and sends me home without charge. He knows we’re all a bit nutty.

Dr. Max and his entire staff provided outstanding medical as well as emotional kindness and support to our puppy and our family. As we all dealt with any pet owners worst nightmare. I took my dogs in for their well-being check and shots. They greeted us with Hello and they remembered my puppies name. I had setup a office visit and asked what the Covid rules were. The office is very clean and everybody is friendly. The doctor that was there did a throw exam and my oldest puppy has some dental issues. He explained the best options for her.

My dog Ollie’s hind legs went out on him night before Thanksgiving and he couldn’t walk. They got me in promptly on Black Friday. After a steroid shot, meds, and laser therapy he is now walking so much better and I’m very grateful and happy. The tech even let me come in for the laser treatments (6) before hours so I could get to work. Much appreciated!! Thank you !

They are the nicest vet clinic I have ever been to in all my years of owning pets. They saved my dog’s life literally. Dr Max and Promise nursed my dog back to life. Heather and The other Max are great too. An outstanding place!!!!

Misty was having horrible smells coming out of her mouth, turns out she had a horrible infection. Dr Donovan as always was wonderful! She was put on antibiotics for a couple of weeks and the smell was gone, brought her back in for a checkup and he was happy how things were progressing. He cleaned off the horrible plaque on her teeth and they look amazing! Was given another round of antibiotics to kill off any reminder infection and good to go! I was so afraid she was going to have to have teeth

Everyone is always nice and so helpful. Dr. Donovan and the staff have been fantastic with my cat, willing to try different treatments to see what works best for her. I asked to try fluoxetine for her fear aggression, and Dr. Donovan took it seriously. She has become so much happier and more confident on it. They are also very gentle when handling her, which I appreciate.

Everyone is friendly and patient with my very nervous dog. They don't keep you in the waiting room for long. I have never needed to put my dog on the table. Doctors and staff have always gotten down on the floor with my dog. They are so kind.

Brought my cat Bagheera in for a urinary infection. The were able to get me in right away (I’m an overprotective fur mom)! They took great care of her!! The girls at the front desk and Dr Donovan are wonderful!! She is back to her normal crazy self. Can’t thank them enough for the caring attitudes.

I love the personal attention you guys get lost I ask a lot of questions because I love baloo with all my heart and soul and you guys make it easy he listen to me you answer questions although I wish we could find a better answer for his allergies instead of allergy shots and anabiotic’s for skin infections consistently. The front office staff is very caring and attentive both personally and over the telephone. However, my family as well as myself are expecting more nurturing, compassionate attention directly from the vet doctors. We are in need of one that can offer a more warm, reassuring feeling for us and our dog as he begins to require more care in is later years. Great clinic - just needed to explain my star rating.

I like that you offer discounted vaccinations. I also like that you have evening hours. Your prices seem to be fair. We have been to other vets in our past and the techs and doctors there seem to be a bit more empathetic and nurturing. (not sure if that is because they are female) - I was disappointed in our recent exam because doctor didn't give what I thought was a very thorough exam. Did not look in our dogs ears at all! Although I am confident of his expertise, we just don't receive

Dr. Max is an amazing Doctor. He saved my cat Simba. I recommended him to my neighbors. Their dog had cancer and they could not schedule an appointment for him with his regular Dr. Dr. Max took them immediately. Since that time, they stayed with him and some of their friends’ pets also became patients of Dr. Max. The staff is very friendly and caring. I like this clinic!

Dr Donovan and Heather always treat me, and our 2 Border Collies, like their own family. Our dogs are never anxious at the Vets office, due to the compassion, and TCL they provide. Dr Donovan was sure to not try and 'upsell me' during our last visit, on product that was not necessary. Dr Maks is extremely detailed, and knowledgeable, and we thank him for saving our make Border Collie, JAKE, life due to his recommendatipn for emergency surgery 2.5 yrs ago. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VETERINA

After multiple visits to my local vet clinic, 5 mins away from my home, I traveled 40 mins away to bring my 16 years old cat to this clinic for the 2nd opinion. My cat's allergy was awful. I am very grateful for Dr. Maksim Ilukhin' diagnostic and great service. This is the best experience I have ever had in years. Dr. Donovan and the staff at Island Lake veterinary are so wonderful with both of my dogs. My younger dog had a swollen toe and I was able to bring her in the next day and get her looked at. Now that we have been treating her infection she seems to be feeling much better thanks to the crew at Island Lake Vet Clinic!

I have taken all my pets (since 1975) to the Island Lake Veterinary Clinic. The doctors are knowledgeable and caring. Recently, I had concerns and needed to have Lil-Man seen by Dr. Max; he eased my mind after an exam and suggested several way to help him in his senior years - first was a dental procedure. Thanks for taking really good care of Lil-Man - I was afraid to have him sedated for a teeth cleaning, but he did extremely well. I am hopeful he will get relief & his stiffness continues

We recently switched to this clinic from another vet. Were referred to Dr. Max by our friends. Staff is friendly and professional, always call you couple days before to confirm an appointment. We like Dr. Max, he will answer all your questions, explain everything, discuss plan of care. never make you fill like he is in a rush. And he works every Saturday, its very important for me and my husband, don't have to take time off from work

I like the thoroughness of exams, I always leave feeling that my German shepherd who has a thyroid problem, which was found by Dr Donavan saving her life, has been checked from nose to tail. I also Thank Dr Max who saved her life after a pit bull attack. Surgical skills are exceptional! Staff is always smiling and caring and quick to assist with any problems!

My dog had her teeth cleaned and two removed. She got the princess treatment because the techs noticed she didn't like recuperating in her cage. They let her out, to hang with them, easing her confusion as to why she was crated and alone. Not only were her medical needs cared for, but her emotional needs too. Such kind people.

What originally brought me to Island Lake Vet was the price. Much cheaper then other places at the time. I am not sure how true that is today. We have been seeing Dr Donovan for several years. What we love about him is his laid back approach. He seems to really care. He doesn't make us feel bad for not doing somethings we perhaps should do. He never seems rushed, always taking time with us and answering all of our questions. He always seems to go the extra mile.

Heather, Vet Tech, is extremely personable, and caring. Dr Donovan is so very kind, caring, personable, and always takes his time with our dogs. I never feel rushed during our appointments. Through all the years (10+) we've been taking our dogs to Dr Maks & Dr Donovan, we have been extremely pleased. No reason to go anywhere else.

I love that Dr. Max and the staff know that I have a very fearful dog (he is scared if the wind blows too hard outside) and gets down to his level and does their best to comfort him and assure him they are only trying to help him and take care of him. Everyone there is very compassionate towards the animals they see and treat. Great job everyone ! Thank you for love and care you give to our fur babies.

Dr. Max is the best! My dog went for ACL surgery and Dr. Max explained every detail of the operation. He even showed me the X-rays. The staff is also very nice and hats off to Amy!

Dr. Donovan is my favorite vet. He's kind and takes extra time with you and your pet. I do get sticker shock each time I go there - prices may be inline with other offices, but it's very high for all my rescues!!

I cannot say enough good things about Island Lake Vet, I feel like they are family. I have 3 dogs and have been going here for years. I can honestly say that the doctors and ladies here are the best! They are the most caring, compassionate people that truly love animals. It's nice to walk through the doors and have someone always greet you and your pet with a smile. They are always very accommodating and are able to get you in quickly. Their prices are also very reasonable. I am sooo very greatf

Dr Max and all staff are really supportive and accomidating. Even though i live 40 miles away, i stll love to come here because i know my kitties are in good hands. Especially after Dr Max did a surgery on my cat's leg - basically saving it from amoutation. Clinic is clean, and they have all meds and food on spot. Highly recommend.

They hold her and talk to her and that is what our little angel likes. I love Island Lake Vet! I have been coming here for years, Dr Donovan is great. He is very caring and compassionate - I wouldn't trust my babies with anyone else. I have 3 dogs and he has always taken the the time to explain health issues clearly to me. Everyone in the office is fabulous! I always seem to have last minute issues with my dogs and they always are able to get me in with no problem. Thanks for being there for us guys!! I don't know what I'd do without you :)

After my dog was attacked by a pit bull I.L.A.H not only did a great job of putting her back together but were also sensitive to the fact that I was also hurt and often asked how I was doing at the many visits to help my german shepherd. I started to go to Island Lake Vet because the prices were cheaper then other vets. Though the office isn't fancy, I'd rather have low cost. I love that the doctors take time with you. They don't seem to rush you through. They seem to care, and are honest and don't make you feel bad about the decisions you make. I am able to get an appointment when needed. The girls at the front desk have always been helpful and kind. Very important.

I very much appreciate the careful listening skills of the doctor and the thoroughness for which he examined Taj (nasal type congestion/inflammation) and Titan (heart worm). He listened to my concerns and acted. Both instances were most likely difficult diagnosis and the doctor appears to have gotten both correct. Thank you.

Thank you for all you have done for our herd. Your kindness, caring and laughter are what makes your practice so special. There are many options today for annual shot packages at deep discounts. Yet, on the occasion your pet needs a vet for acute or chronic issues. If you as the owner have not established a relationship with a vet, in reality you have done a disservice to your pet. And for what? To be able to get that extra beer???
